Flex Fleece

The apparel design side of Binary Winter Press gets most of our shirts from American Apparel.  This reminds of their adverts in that she's scantily clad, looks a little unhealthy, and let's say the gasmask is for the wretched air in L.A.

Salome

Salome declares her love to the severed head, finally kissing the prophet's lips passionately.

Singular Vision of the Blind

As it turns out, the Hagakure and the Art of War were written in order placate indentured servants. Give the poor a false sense of honor and they will break their backs and throw down their lives for the revered nobility, never acknowledging the fault of the nobility itself. In short, you've been inspired by the literature of subjugation. You have no honor, you've been suckered. You're not a conqueror, you're a slave.

The B stands for Breathing

I've heard many b-boys and b-girls state that dancing is like oxygen; they couldn't live without it.  I feel the same way about art.  Mad props.

Gigante Hermosa

Self Control

Is it possible that will power is a myth?  That it is not the lack of self control but the level of endorphins that are produced by certain activities.  One person might get as high off a 2K running marathon as another person might off a 2-day fucking marathon.  One man's hug is another man's percocet, so they say.

This time would be different, this time she'll pull the strings.

Callous Acts in Contemplation

She's thought about it.  You're fooling yourself if you think she doesn't still.

Mary Tyler Mortis

I would watch a show about a bright eyed and quirky girl trying to find her way in the big apocalypse.  Mr. Whedon, if you would be so kind...

Hollow Bones

As pretty as the aesthetic is, I don't really think someone vaguely human could ever fly by the power of their own wings.  Birds have hollow bones and minimal weight distributed about their tiny bodies.  Our size would require not only an enormous wingspan, but really excessive musculature across the back.  I don't know where I'm going with this.  Bummer though.

The Blank Stare of a Duck in Flight

I saw a duck at Safeway today, eagerly followed by a mallard drake.  I was looking at them because you don't often observe ducks at Safeway, seeing as how they have no place to carry a club card with which to utilize sale prices.  The drake looked back at me like I was some weird fucker.  It made me wonder how many other times birds see people in places they don't belong.  As arbitrary as that may be, it may seem as odd to a crow to see a hang glider as it would be for you to find a robin in your shower.  Thankfully birds don't speak any human languages, or else we might hear "what the fuck are you doing?" far more often.

Sushi is Murder

I don't care if you think that eating fish is xenocide.  I still don't like seeing you with dead things on your mouth.

...and oh yeah, it stinks

There's No Place Like Home

..and you were there...

...and you were there

...and you were there too...

Nothing but love for everyone at Emerald City Comic-Con.  A very well handled show, excellent people, many many friends.  Looking forward to heading back over the rainbow for next year's show.  Until then...

No Rest For The Wicked

Hell hath no fury like a woman with an army of flying monkeys* and a vendetta against murderous house-wielding farmgirls.

Apes of Wrath

Driving up to Seattle, there are vast expanses of green.  The kind of place an army of flying monkeys could flourish and be hidden from prying eyes.  Until one day when the skies would go dark and the reign of Pan Chiroptera would begin.

The Road to Emerald City: Liquid Courage

Emerald City Comic-Con this Weekend.  How about some OZ inspired gasmasks...

"But how about my courage?" asked the Lion anxiously.

"You have plenty of courage, I am sure," answered Oz. "All you need is confidence in yourself. There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The True courage is in facing danger when you are afraid, and that kind of courage you have in plenty."

"Perhaps I have, but I'm scared just the same," said the Lion. "I shall really be very unhappy unless you give me the sort of courage that makes one forget he is afraid."

Every Breath Brings You Closer to Death

How would your life change if you knew the exact number of breaths you had left?

The Key to Personal Freedom

Vivisection can be such a troubling matter.  Millions of animals may have died for my hair but what good is that when they shave it for cranial implants?  Still, I suppose half of me is pretty enough to have access keys donated to my cause by nameless interns.

Blue Eyes Deep as Hard Drives

His memory fails him.  Not corrupted, just the tragic misplacement of single digits turning that positive charge into nothing but negativity.  Sometimes he wishes he understood less, at least he thinks he does.  What's electrochemical could be seen as the dominion of profundity.  Now, wouldn't that be [interpreted as] sweet?

The Watcher on the Hilltop

It's more of a voyeuristic urge really.  What is a life taken if not observed?

Little Red

What big eyes you have,
The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad.
So just to see that you don't get chased
I think I ought to walk with you for a ways.
